Child Safety Standards

Our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and how to report it.

Our position

Child sexual abuse and exploitation is prohibited in every app we publish. There is no warning, no strike system, and no appeal to a first offence: accounts involved are removed permanently, and material is reported to the authorities.

What is prohibited

The following are banned outright, in any form, including in private household chats:

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any image, video, drawing, or generated depiction of a minor in a sexual context.
Sexualisation of minors — describing, discussing, or presenting a person under 18 in a sexual way, whether or not imagery is involved.
Grooming — building a relationship with a minor to prepare them for sexual abuse, including moving a conversation to another platform for that purpose.
Sextortion — threatening to publish intimate imagery of a minor to obtain money, more imagery, or compliance.
Trafficking or solicitation — advertising, arranging, or seeking sexual contact with a minor.
Facilitation — linking to, requesting, or directing anyone toward the above, anywhere.

How our apps are designed to reduce risk

HomieHub is a private household tool, not a social network. That shapes the risk in ways worth stating plainly:

Accounts are for people aged 13 and over. The app is not directed at children.
There is no public feed, no discovery, and no recommendation system. Nothing you post is visible outside your own household.
Households are private and join-by-invitation. Nobody is placed in a household with you, and no stranger can message you because they found you.
There are no anonymous accounts and no ephemeral, unrecoverable messaging.

These reduce the exposure that drives most exploitation online. They do not eliminate it, which is why the rest of this page exists.

Reporting

In the app

Any post, comment, message, story, note, or profile can be reported from the item itself. Reports can be sent to the household's owner or directly to us — including when the owner is the problem. You can also block another member, which stops their content reaching you.

Directly to us

Anything involving a child's safety can be sent straight to [email protected]. Write CSAE in the subject line and it is prioritised over everything else in the queue. You do not need an account to report, and you may report anonymously.

Please do not attach suspected imagery. Forwarding it can itself be an offence. Describe what you saw and where, and we will retrieve it through our own systems.

To the authorities

You can report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at report.cybertipline.org or 1-800-843-5678, at any time, whether or not you tell us. Outside the United States, report to your national hotline or local police. If a child is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first.

How we respond

We remove the content and disable the account, without waiting for the reporter to follow up.
We preserve the evidence as required by law, rather than deleting it, so investigators can use it.
We report to NCMEC's CyberTipline, as required of US providers by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and cooperate with law enforcement requests.
We ban permanently. Accounts removed for CSAE are not reinstated.

Reports reaching us about a child's safety are triaged ahead of all other reports. Okobbe LLC is a small company; that means a report reaches a human quickly, and it also means we rely on people telling us.

Legal compliance

We comply with applicable child safety laws in the markets where our apps are distributed, including the United States reporting obligations under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, and with the child safety requirements of the Google Play Developer Program Policy and the Apple App Store Review Guidelines.
