Privacy Policy
Overview
HomieHub ("the App") is developed and published by Okobbe LLC, operating under the developer identity okobbe. HomieHub is a household and roommate management app. This policy explains what data the App handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use your data to train AI.
Data We Collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address or Apple ID (Sign in with Apple is supported, including Hide My Email), a display name, a username, and an optional avatar photo.
Optional profile details. You may choose to add more to your profile, such as pronouns, age or birthday, hometown, languages, a phone number, a public email, social media handles, lifestyle preferences (like sleep hours, cleaning, cooking, guests, pets, smoking, or work schedule), interests, a status, and a time zone. These are entirely optional and shared with your housemates according to your per-field privacy settings.
Household information. Households you join or create can include a name, photo, notes, an address, Wi-Fi network name and password, chore schedules, expense categories, and manually entered emergency contacts. Emergency contacts are typed in by you; we never read your device's address book.
Content you create. Posts (text, photo, audio), comments, likes, stories (photo, video, music), chat messages, voice notes, images, GIFs, and reactions.
Bills and expenses. Bill titles, amounts, due dates, splits between housemates, and receipt attachments. We never collect card or bank details; payments themselves happen outside the App.
Calendar and chores. Events, availability, and chore history. You can optionally enable two-way sync with your device Calendar.
Presence. Online status, last-seen, and a "who's home" indicator. "Who's home" is a manual toggle; the App never uses GPS or location.
Device information. A push notification token (Apple Push Notification service) and your notification preferences.
Device Permissions
The App may request access to your Camera, Microphone, Photo Library, Calendar, and Apple Music, only to power the features that need them. The App does not access your location, your device contacts, or any health data.
How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used solely to run the service: household chat and feed, bills and splits, calendar and chores, profiles and stories, push notifications (per your preferences), and showing your profile and status to your housemates according to your privacy settings. Your data is never sold, never shared with third parties for marketing, and never used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Storage & Sync
Your data is stored with Supabase, a managed database, storage, and authentication provider hosted in the United States. Access is enforced with row-level security scoped to your household, and some media is served through expiring signed URLs. Data syncs in real time over secure connections, and all traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS.
On your device, your login session is stored in the iOS Keychain, and a small snapshot of today's items is stored locally to power the widget.
Analytics & Tracking
The App contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We keep only operational diagnostic logs needed to run the service.
GIF search is powered by Giphy and Tenor: your GIF search queries are sent to those services, and the Giphy SDK collects its own usage data. See the Giphy Privacy Policy and the Google (Tenor) Privacy Policy.
Service Providers
We rely on a small set of providers to operate the App: Supabase (hosting, database, authentication, storage), Apple (Sign in with Apple, push notifications, StoreKit purchases, MusicKit), and Giphy and Tenor (GIF search). Each receives only what is necessary to provide its function.
In-App Purchases
HomieHub Plus is an auto-renewable subscription (monthly or annual) that unlocks households beyond two members and additional perks. All purchases are sold and billed by Apple through StoreKit and validated server-side. Okobbe LLC never sees or stores your payment details.
Data Deletion
You can delete your account directly in the App. Deletion removes your login, clears your personal profile data (including phone, email, birthday, social handles, status, device tokens, notification settings, privacy lists, stories, and RSVPs), and removes you from your households, transferring ownership if you owned one.
To preserve shared household records for remaining members, content you posted (such as messages, posts, and bills) is anonymized to "Deleted user" rather than removed. You can also edit or delete individual profile fields and content at any time. For deletion help, contact [email protected].
Children's Privacy
HomieHub is a roommate and household tool intended for users 13 and older, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where required in the EU/EEA). If we learn that such data has been collected, we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
